Hydro Charger Universal

Universal Hydro Generator – Power and Efficiency for Your Vessel

Monitoring via Android app

Our latest development builds on the proven technology of the Hydro Charger Standard.

Designed to be simple, yet powerful, this hydro generator is ideal for both coastal cruising and offshore sailing.

With a lightweight design of just 8 kg, user-friendly operation, and an attractive price point, it is also practical for smaller vessels. Thanks to specially tuned propeller settings, it can generate power from speeds as low as 3 knots, making it perfect for day trips and also for larger voyages.

Real-World Test: Performance Measurement

The measurements were taken during a day's sailing. The refrigerator (4 amps) and autopilot (6 amps) were running the entire time.

Despite these power consumers and sailing only, the battery charge recovered from 75% at departure to 82.2% after 7.5 hours.

Key Features

• Lightweight yet robust: Solid construction in 316 stainless steel, weighing only 8 kg (dimensions without propeller: 110 x 28 x 8 cm).
• Versatile use: Suitable for coastal and offshore sailing.
• Ready to install: Delivered fully assembled (excluding boat mount). Mounts available separately depending on application.
• Simple installation: Stern bracket tilt set once via perforated plate.
• Plug-and-play operation: Just hang, sail, and generate electricity.
• Smart controller included: 12 V regulator controllable via Android app (Bluetooth, no SIM needed). Optional 3 m remote display available.
• Adjustable charging current: Up to 20 A (12 V). Propeller tilt can be factory-adjusted to vessel speed.
• Power consumption: 30–40 mA depending on screen brightness, 0 mA when turned off.
• Final charge voltage: Programmable in 0.1 V increments between 13.8 V and 15 V.

Installation Dimensions

Mounting Options

• Fixed stern mount (use only when vessel is stationary)
• Swing bracket with side stops and 180° pivot
• Detachable angled mount for swim platform

Models

• Art. No. 7105: 12 V version with 12 V controller Android App, bluetooth system, fully ready to install
• Art. No. 7106: 24 V version with 12/24 V controller, fully ready to install

Controller / Regulator (12 V)

• Powerbox electronics with Android app for real-time system monitoring via Bluetooth (only for 12V)
• Displays battery voltage, charge current, Ah charged since last start, generator voltage and speed, electronics temperature, regulator status, PWM modulation, and GPS speed.
• Optional remote display available (12 V, 3 m cable).

Accessories

• 12 V remote display (Art. No. 7108)
The independent display can be permanently mounted on the controller, for example on the chart table, allowing you to monitor battery status and charging current at any time.
• Fixed stern mount (Art. No. 7109)
This independent stern mount is useful if the hydro generator will be used for coastal sailing.
Always supplied with a backing plate.
  Weight: 1 kg. Dimensions: 5 x 20 x 2 cm.
(An additional support is recommended for installation, e.g., in the engine compartment, so the hydro generator can be stored securely on board.)
Installation and removal are recommended only when the vessel is stationary.
• Detachable angled swim platform mount (Art. No. 7110)
The mount is attached to the swim platform using a backing plate.
When the hydro generator is not in use, the angled mount can be easily removed and stored by unscrewing the knob, leaving the swim platform clear except for the flat plate, so it does not interfere in port or when swimming.
Always supplied with a backing plate.
  Weight: 2.1 kg. Dimensions: 20 x 5 x 22 cm.
• Pendulum mount (Art. No. 7111)
While sailing, the mount automatically pivots up to 25° to each side depending on position, ensuring the hydro generator remains vertical in the water.
It can also be rotated 180° upward by pulling the safety lever cord and the attached control line.
In this position, the generator can be mounted or removed.
Always supplied with a backing plate.
  Weight: 1.6 kg. Dimensions: 5 x 20 x 5 cm.
• Carry bag (Art. No. 7112)
• 3-piece propeller protector (Art. No. 7113)
• Power Relay 12V/24V (Art. N.º 7153 / 7154)
